2025 Year-End Reflections: What an Extraordinary Year at Missing Links

Written by Am Badwall

December 2025

As we approach the end of the year, I find myself filled with deep gratitude, pride, and admiration for the incredible community that makes Missing Links what it is. This year has been nothing short of remarkable, from the dedication of our staff to the transformative gains made by our clients, 2025 has reminded us why we do this work and why Progressive ABA continues to change lives.

A Year of Growth, Innovation, and Heart

Our team showed extraordinary commitment, compassion, and skill this year. Every instructor, therapist, supervisor, and team member poured their hearts into their work, meeting each client with respect, patience, and the belief that every learner is capable of extraordinary growth.

And the results spoke for themselves.

Across every age group, we witnessed beautiful gains:

  • Clients using their voices, verbal or AAC, to advocate for themselves.

  • Increased independence in daily living skills.

  • Meaningful social and emotional breakthroughs.

  • Stronger executive functioning and self-regulation.

  • New friendships, deeper connections, and more confident learners.

These achievements are not just tasks mastered, they are life-changing milestones, rooted in our Progressive ABA approach that values dignity, autonomy, emotional regulation, and functional learning.

Progressive ABA: Leading the Way Forward

This was also a landmark year as our Progressive ABA continued to gain recognition across the province and beyond. Our model, developed over 28 years, has become a guiding light for families, centers, and professionals looking for a compassionate, modern, relationship-centered approach to Autism intervention.

We trained more teams, supported more parents, and expanded our adult and youth programs with intention, excellence, and heart. Missing Links continues to stand proudly at the forefront of what ethical, modern, and meaningful ABA looks like.

A Special Milestone: Our New Book

One of the most exciting highlights of the year was the release of our book, Abandoning Traditional Autism Programming With a Modern Approach, co-authored by myself Am Badwall and Mike Daniels. This book represents decades of practice, reflection, and evolution. It is a testament to the work done right here at Missing Links, the foundation, the innovation, and the unwavering belief that we can and must do better for autistic individuals.

We are so excited to share it with the world.

Looking Ahead to 2026

As we head into 2026, I am filled with optimism and excitement. We have new programs launching, expanded training opportunities, and continued momentum behind the Progressive ABA movement. With the incredible community we have, our staff, families, clients, and partners, we know the coming year will bring even more growth, learning, and success.

Warmest Holiday Wishes

From our entire team at Missing Links, we wish all our families, clients, staff, and community partners a joyful, peaceful, and love-filled holiday season. Thank you for trusting us, learning with us, and being part of the Missing Links family.

Here’s to rest, celebration, and an unforgettable year ahead.

Cheers to an inspiring and extraordinary 2026!

Warmly,

Am Badwall, Ph.D., BCBA, RBA (ON)
