Executive Functioning

Missing Links is happy to offer programming and training courses to target executive functioning for all learners!

The phrase “executive function” refers to a set of skills. These skills support the ability to plan ahead and meet goals, display self-control, follow multiple-step directions even when interrupted, and stay focused despite distractions, among others.  All children and adolescents require executive functioning skills to be effective, independent learners and to manage themselves in all facets of daily life.

  • In Person Programming

At Missing Links, we have created programs to teach children and adolescents functional systems to help manage and support both school and home environments. Emphasis is placed on skills surrounding organization, efficiency, and independence.

Establishing and teaching individualized systems and learning how to incorporate these systems into daily life can create better planning, initiation and prioritizing of tasks, as well as skills in self-monitoring and time management.

Our programming at Missing Links is individualized to the learner’s style and needs and can greatly benefit both children and adolescents with or without an identified deficit in executive functions.

  • Professional & Parent Training

A training system created to certify parents and professionals in teaching executive functioning skills.

This multi-part training course is offered through our Missing Links on Demand platform, and allows educators and families to gain access to our curriculum and teaching methodology so they can focus on developing executive functioning skills at home or at school.

Build understanding and competency around organization, efficiency, planning, time management and independence.
